Traditions

Home for the holidays….now more than ever those words have important meaning. The times shared with family, planning and cooking special treats and dinners, time spent decorating and gift giving all become so important in times like these.

Inside this issue of Life+spaces are a few holiday treats for you! Interior Designer Carol Brademas shares her tips for easy holiday decorating – who doesn’t love easy! And our staff has done the shopping for you this holiday season by presenting gift ideas from the very luxurious to the very practical for the home, and all available through retailers close to home. Life+spaces promotes supporting locally owned and operated businesses, and we hope that you stop and consider this factor before making your buying decisions this holiday season.

I share with you this holiday season my family’s tradition, a recipe for Hungarian Kieflies, a delicacy of puffy pastry with a sweet walnut filling. Warning though, this is a weekend or multi-night project and labor intensive but well worth the work! Your family and friends will beg you for more, and expect them year after year. It may even become a new tradition in your family.

May your home be filled with love, hope, and happy memories this holiday season.
