Fall 2013

Everyone’s talking about organic foods and the importance of buying local. There’s nothing better than knowing where your food comes from and supporting local farmers at the same time. You probably know Joe and Jody Klinedinst who run the popular Italian deli at the Farmers Market. They’ve opened their own shop just down the block near Mishawaka Avenue and Beyer. In this issue, we visit their beautiful Walkerton farm and see how the entire family of five works together raising goats, making the freshest of the freshest chévre, and supporting the community. Joe and Jody recently donated 17 pounds of goat cheese to the Rain Barrel Ball at Century Center!

Also in this issue:

- We feature three fathers, all physicians, who prescribed a big dose of altruism for their daughters. Two of them now are physicians and one runs her father’s large medical practice.

- Intriguing is a word that could be used to describe local Medium Rick Bunch. Our profile describes what makes him tick and how he got into this unusual line of work.

- Two Life+Spaces writers who studied in Ireland and Scotland share some special destinations for those lucky enough to travel to one of those countries.
