CHICAGO Haupert Construction, Inc. was named one of 12 Platinum Winners in the 2013 Professional Remodeler Design Awards contest. The award, presented by Professional Remodeler Magazine, was in the category of Addition Under $150,000.

Haupert, in business for 34 years, remodeled the historic 1940s Jefferson Boulevard home of Karen and Jim Gleason in South Bend. The renovation involved a den addition to match the Normandy-style architecture. Some elements included white oak timbers, cement stucco inserts, recycled steel casements and a roof that combined old and new slate.

The Professional Remodeler Design Award is a national contest recognizing outstanding remodeling projects in 22 categories. Residential companies can be nominated for the awards, which are judged on construction quality, overall design, creativity, problem solving and value. A panel of four industry expert judges determined the winners.

“Haupert Construction is proud be recognized for this project,” said Bruce Haupert, owner. “It is a testament to the years of experience and willingness of our team to take the time to find creative building solutions.”
